I wish she was better known as a writer. As someone who has a not-normal gender/sexual identity, I usually skip the romance/sex parts of most books. But Baker… she captures human truth that other writers can’t. I never feel a sense of dread when romance starts flowering in her narratives.
She can make the most real, most grounded emotions play out amidst robots, time travel and wildly varying historical settings.
I miss the feeling of knowing a new KB book was arriving, that delicious excitement of knowing I was going to throw myself into that universe again.
Just genius. ??
