Second General Attacks US Policy In Iraq

Major General Tim Cross

A second key British general has criticised US post-war policy in Iraq.

Maj Gen Tim Cross, who was the most senior UK officer involved in post-war planning, told the Sunday Mirror US policy was “fatally flawed”.

His comments came after Gen Sir Mike Jackson, head of the Army during the invasion, told the Daily Telegraph US policy was “intellectually bankrupt”.

“Right from the very beginning we were all very concerned about the lack of detail that had gone into the post-war plan and there is no doubt that Rumsfeld was at the heart of that process,” he said.

He added: “There is no doubt that with hindsight the US post-war plan was fatally flawed and many of us sensed that at the time.”

My oh my – they’re coming thick and fast now, aren’t they? All the stuff us loony leftie bastards have been saying since 2003 has now been vindicated by two British generals.

We predicted there were now WMDs – there were no WMDs.

We predicted the loss of Iraqi life would be huge – there are now 655,000+ fewer Iraqis alive since the wonderful liberation.

We predicted that the US was only interested in oil and would therefore plunge Iraq into an ungovernable chaos – now (four years too late) these two generals say that’s exactly what happened.

And from New Labour and Gordon Brown… anything? Any little word of remorse or criticism of the USA’s blatant empire-building? Any regret that they involved the UK in this series of horrendous war crimes?

Nothing.

What a surprise. New Labour, old war criminals.
