Tonight there isn’t one best new track, there are three. All courtesy of the Street Lourd Party compilation album. It’s a brilliant French hip hop comp and it’s living proof there’s a mighty amount of talent over there. The flow on some of the tracks is simply beautiful and even though I can’t follow more than 50% of the language, the rhythm of the rhyming is wonderful. Definitely get hold of this album if you’ve ever nodded your head to MC Solaar, Die Fantastischen Vier or any other non-English hip hop. And if you haven’t – broaden your tastes a bit, you may like it! Oh, and the artists I played tonight? Skomoni, Karlito & Rak and Diam’s & Kennedy.
The best old track was Joe Jackson’s ‘Different For Girls.’ What a pop song. Great lyrics, catchy tune – faultless!
